Day 147. The past few days.

The past few days have been quite busy. After the girls left on Sunday evening, Barry and I started to prepare for this week - a trip to Toronto to see my neurosurgeon Dr. Fehlings.

We had asked them to push my appointment back a week to allow me to settle in at home a bit before heading back to Toronto, and they were quite accommodating. Today is 8 weeks post-op.

Getting to Toronto takes a lot of planning now as long periods in the car are difficult for me. On Monday night we drove to Barrie to stay with our good friends Margie and Dave. We are so thankful for their hospitality which allowed us to split up the drive. Tuesday, we drove the rest of the way to Toronto Western where we had a full day of x-rays, delivering cards to my caregivers for their great work, and of course meeting with Dr. Fehlings and his team. He gave us very big news, but more on that later.

Now we are finishing the trip off. We stayed in Barrie once again last night and now are on our way back to home sweet home.

I'm going in for a 4th neurosurgery; this time it's a repair to my lumbar fusion. Here, I will post my daily updates on dealing with diagnosis, surgery and recovery. Join me on my journey.
